We are back and we are geared up for a HUGE 2015. Are you?
The new year is tipped to be one of “pure economic expansion” according to Cameron Bagrie, ANZ’s chief economist. The economy is growing and that always brings good news for kiwi businesses. In business, when opportunities present themselves, we have to actively take them on board so that we can reap the benefits later.
So what does this mean for business owners and managers?
A booming economy does not automatically mean boosted business for you, unless you take advantage of it! This means marketing. Your potential customers out there are now more wiling to do business – but only if they know you exist! Fail to act and it will be your competitors who are filling their bank accounts, not you.
It’s time to start proactively marketing your company to your target market.
But how do you do this?
Firstly, you need to start thinking about where your customers are and who they are. If you don’t know who and where your customers are, targeting them is complete guesswork and will waste a lot of your precious time and money.
Secondly, now that you have identified where your customers are, think about what sort of information they will want from you… Here’s a great tip: always explain your products and/or services in a way that explain how they benefit the customer, rather than talking around the features of it. Proactively think about what concerns and queries they could have about your products/services and answer this for them.
And lastly, remember to always add value to entice potential customers, rather than using discounting. Have a think about what you can add to your product or service, or what extra, useful information you can give to potential customers to make them think ‘wow, this is a great deal!’
